What should I go for, self inflating mat or blow up bed?

Which is the most comfortable? What are the pros and cons? Links to best things would be really appreciated as I don't know what I'm doing.

Only ever had blow-up mattresses which have been fine (slept on one when 8 1/2 mths pg and it was SO comfy) Now get DC (5 and 2) to pump them up which they think is a great game

blow up airbed. get one of the canvas type ones, rather than the plastic with velour on top. They last for years. Argos have them reduced at the moment i think.

don't like blow up matresses as they are too bouncy for me. and the ones I had (gelerts) kept deflating through the night

H3Kids · 01/07/2008 09:19

hi if you want something that doesn't deflate half way through the night I have just bought a FAT Aric from www.alpkit.com and its the best night sleep ever, fantastic .

Blandmum · 01/07/2008 09:26

oooohhhh I'm thinking of getting Fat airics. Are they good for longer term use, do you think?

Ive got camp beds, but they are a faff to put up and take lots of space

Another one for the blow up canvas beasts - slept on one for 3 weeks when 7 months pregnant and it was more comfy than my own bed. They last for years as surprise says (as long as you don't let children and dogs bounce on them) unlike the dreadful flock velour ones that die after one night.

OOh, they look good, do they roll up smallish? our car is full to bursting!
