Claustrophobic in blackout tent

Anyone get really claustrophobic in a blackout tent? I find myself wanting to get out of the tent in the night? Trouble is I need a tent which is quite think and good for colder weather and I think the blackout ones are better for this? Any suggestions?

I don’t think blackout tents are any warmer than other tents - they’re better at blocking out light in early mornings and stopping the tent heating up too much when the sun hits (less of an issue at this time of year I imagine, but we find it useful in the summer).

Never found the same thing myself, but if you don’t find it comfortable in a darker room try a warmer sleeping mat and higher rating sleeping bag for colder weather.

Surely at night time there is no difference between a blackout tent and a normal tent? It's dark in both scenarios?

But yes blackout doesn't really make the tent warmer, just means my kids don't wake up at 5am in the summer - which is an absolute godsend!

I have never fancied one of the blackout inner tents for that reason.

I have a cotton canvas tent with a cotton inner that I think is warmer than a poly tent.
