In August we are going on our first holiday outside of the UK. We have chosen this place to visit. We have 6 full days there. 4 adults and 4 children (2 boys age 11 and 12, and 2 girls age 10 and 5).
We are looking for recommendations of things to see and do over there?

We are going Friday-Friday but the Fridays are going to be full with travelling there and back as it's a 14 hour journey from where we live (including the 6 hour ferry).

We stayed here a few years ago and it’s a lovely site

puy du foy is about an hour ago, and an absolutely fabulous day out.

Saint Gilles had a little castle and feels like a traditional French village, which there aren’t many of around it that neck of the woods.

There's a karting and quad bike place 16 kilometres away which I'm pretty sure we went to with our young teenagers - Circuit Mecamax.

The site itself is really nice but I have to say I was disappointed by the location. After driving such a long way, spending hours driving around each day isnt for me. It's about 20-25 mins to the coast, lovely beaches. Not many (any?).places to eat nearby. Supermarket 15/20 mins

There is a huge zip wire and obstacle course in the trees place next door. Le Grand Defi I think it was called. Kids loved it.
They put on games in the main garden most nights, bouncy castle etc. Didn’t love the food at the restaurant or takeaway kiosk but I am a bit picky on that.
We didn’t have a car so booked a taxi to take us to a market in a coastal town (can’t remember the name). Our girls loved the market, lots of seafood to eat there too. Be careful on the beaches, some of the jellyfish that wash up can sting you.
You can hire bikes on site and the kids loved cycling round and round the site. They weren’t brave enough to cycle to the next town.
I enjoyed the yoga lessons on site. The kids really liked the lagoon which was very quiet and the pool slides.
