(I have already bought this tent and it cannot be returned and so if you have a bad review of it please please don’t post it here as it is too late!!)

Does anyone know what kind of of pump is supplied with this tent? I don’t really want to unbox it and search for the pump as it will be a gift and I don’t want to have to fold it all back up again !

I assume it is a manual pump. If so I am considering buying an electric one instead but can anyone suggest something that would be compatible? I know Vango sell one which I am sure would be ideal. I saw in Aldi today an ‘air compressor’ which appears to be for inflating car tyres…. But would that also work on the tent, obviously with a much lower psi…?

(Don't know about alternatives tho, I'd stick with the Vango if gifting

Ah thank you! I thought I’d checked the product info but clearly not well enough !

We have a MachuPichu Air tent which came with a manual pump like the one shown in the previous post. It does move a fair bit of air with each stroke and it works fine for topping up the beams, but I wouldn’t fancy having to pump the whole tent up with it!
We bought the Vango Airbeam Tempest rechargeable pump, and have not regretted it, we can get pitched in about 15 minutes.
It’s a lovely gift OP, I’m sure it will be very happily received.

The Vango airbeam manual pump is one of the better ones for inflating an airbeam - I can do my Vango airbeam using the manual pump myself (a quite rotund 55 year old). I have the Tempest rechargeable pump but mine seems quite temperamental and doesn't always work (might be something to do with me leaving it out in the rain)- when it does work its fab. If looking at any other brand of electric pump you may also need to get the correct adaptor as Vango have their own one not a universal type like other manufacturers (I originally had an Outwell that had the same valve as my paddleboards).

We have a different air tent and I agree that the manual pump is enough although we do usually get the teens to do the pumping Grin
