Anyone know any non commercial campsites that either have designated fire pits or will let you have a fire (in a dustbin lid to keep it off the ground if necessary).

Anywhere in the country but we live near Lincoln so nearish ones for a weekend quickie would be great, love to be warm!

Hayfield C&C Club site lets you have fires.

Thanks for that, we were thinking really basic though, like a farmers field with a tap, toilets optional! We have found a couple like this in Wales but they tend to be the type you just stumble upon.

Sorry, I grew up in the peak district, so not really a holiday destination for me, we've just used the Hayfield site to test out new tents! There are plenty of sites like that in Edale, used to be when I was a child, anyway.
