what is the best sleeping bag for my 12 month old when camping in aug

There's this Vango one. I don't know anything about it though so i'm not that much help .

We're going camping next week with our 2 yr old Ds and have got him an In The Night Garden Ready Bed and plenty of fleece blankets.

oww thanks that looks gd enought for me lol yer i have the disny prinsess ready bed for my lill ds and a car one for my dd but my dd3 has not got one as he is only 9 months at the mo lol so thanks for all ur help

I used to put dd in fleecy sleepsuits. In May I'd put her in two over the top of a vest and a sleepsuit.

I put DD in warm sleepsuits- fleecy ones and then the sleeping bag off the p&t- it's just like a sleeping bag really. If you have one similar for your pushchair you could use that?

when ds that age used sleeping bag from home which I sewed (not very well) arms onto from cheap ikea fleece blanket and then put into cosy toes from pushchair and added hat once he was asleep.. also put fleece blankets or sleeping bags underneath though he ended up in with me anyway most nights...

We have the vango nightstar for our ds, he's 21 months.

We are in a campervan so it's not as cold as a tent, but he's not been to hot in it. I would recommend this sleeping bag for a young baby in a tent as it can get quite cold even in summer.

The down side is that it probably won't be big enough for him next summer.

i don't think he will be too warm or hot, maybe just right? but i think i would probably put a hat on him as they lose a lot of heat from there.

definately a Nitestar and they won't be too hot. Lots of layers is needed too.

1 layer underneath is worth 2 on the top, so worth putting a sheepskin or fleecy liner in the bed!

right i have got a sheepsking cosy tose lol and vest baby grow andjogging bottoms plus jumper and ha in aug what do u recon y cosy tose is rilly thick

I reckon you'll be good with the cosy toe! You can add/remove clothing layers as needed.

You might need to put 12 month old in a sleeping bag etc when s/he goes to bed, then pile on a couple of extra layers when you go to bed and then pull them off again at about 5-6am if it is really hot. The temp drops so much on a hot day in the UK and if it is that hot you will prob be a bit awake that early anyway. I think the thing to do is to have something that can't come off - like a sleep suit or gro bag - and something that can be easily removed. Remember you might need to do a nappy change so bear that in mind too. I always took a travel cot when my DD was that age as it kept her off the ground/out of my bed/ and could be used as a play pen or as a 'camp' on its side during the day. Also if it is very hot your little one might not nap during the day, maybe up really early and not go to bed till late but it will still be lots of fun.

Sorry but can I hijack? I'm going away camping just for the weekend with my DS and don't have a sleeping bag but am borrowing a bushbaby. If I put that on an inflatable mattress, keep him fully dressed and put him in his 2.5 tog sleeping bag with blankets over and under him, will he be warm enough? I can put a woolly hat on him too

Spicemonester, did you see my post about the cosytoe/sleeping bag off the pram- is the bushbaby thing you refer to like that? You just need to watch they don't get too cold in the early hours as that's when it's coldest I think.

oww travel cot i have one of them lol didnt think of taking that as i have a big 8 maner tent so it will fit in there just have to have hubby in the other room with the other 2 kids lol lets see who will wake up like a bear with a sore head hahahahahahahahahahaahahah as he is a postman so dont have to do the morning the with the kids so when he has his 3/8 yer old to wake him up at say 6am jumping on is air bed
