We're planning on going on Fri with 2 dcs 3 and 21mths (first time). Have checked the forecast and looks like scattered showers all weekend! Bearing in mind there is some seriously heavy rain down there at the mo - do you think it will be really awful pitching on the waterlogged ground? Please say no cos I'm really looking forward to it .

Must admit I'm a little as we were supposed to go on 9th when the weather was gorgeous, but friends other half asked us to change it.

We were at the peak district this w/e. Site was fine then but looking at the weather atm I would be inclined to pack wellies for this w/e .

If you are happy to spend time in your tent, or be out and about in the rain with waterproofs then I would go for it.

Reading through all the BH threads on ukcampsite then I would absolutely check the forecast for wind. If there are warning re high winds then I would stay at home.

Thanks. I suspect eveyone else is leaning towards bailing out anyway .
Just out of interest - which site were you at?

and what was it like there?

DS2 is doing his DofE practice expedition - staying near Tideswell - avoid that campsite as there will be some serious poker playing (or so he says). BBC 5 day weather forecast for Buxton has no rain after today and sun on Friday and Saturday.
