We're currently in the Vosges region.
Weather not great.
We have 6 nights before our return sailing.
Thinking of 3 of those outside Ghent but looking for ideas for the first 3 night.
Travelling with teens.
Thanks for any recommendations 🙂

For tent/camper/static? EHU?

HappyHolidays75 · 26/07/2025 08:34

@Forgottenmyphone just tent, no EHU.

Our favourite camping stop on the way to the Netherlands is Lilse Bergen but it’s probably too far north for you. There’s so much to do onsite - the dc love it.
Hirondelle in the Ardennes would probably be quite convenient for you. We didn’t rate the accommodation, but that wouldn’t be a problem for you with a tent. The facilities were fine and again, the dc really enjoyed their time there.

Incase anyone is interested in future, we had 2 nights at the site in Tintigny. There's not much to do in the area but the site would be great for young kids - shallow river, lots of activities.
We drive through Dinant and did the railbikes near there. Seemed a much better location overall.
Camping Urban Gardens in Ghent is excellent. The lake beach area is included and it's an easy bus or bike ride in to the city.
