Camping for the first time with 3 girls!

So I'm sure this has probably been done before and am being a little lazy not searching through the archives. But in my defence I have just got over flu and now have a chest infection and just cant focus properly at the moment. So this is the easier option for me.

Basically we've never been camping before, we have a tent sleeping bags for the girls (need to get ours yet). Camping stove with 2 burners. 2 saucpans, 1 frying pan, two lamps. cutlery and plates/bowls.

What else do we need to take with us? And what do we take to eat. We will be having another girl staying with us. So it will be six people for 7 nights. Really dont want o get up there and find that we have forgotten something.

Thank you

Airbeds, wine and blankets (for keeping warm at night and sitting on in the day

Ditto what misselizabethbennett said (especially the wine). Also some foldable chairs to sit on and a small table if you have one.

pinkdolly · 21/05/2008 15:27

of course the table and chairs, I should have thought of that one. thank you. The wine sounds like a nice idea too.

What do I do about a fridge- or do we not take cold items?

We just used an ordinary cool box/bag and bought fresh milk etc each day so that we didn't need to store too much. Some people have electric coolboxes that run off the car battery.

ultra super comprehensive list here

unclefluffy · 21/05/2008 15:39

Whatever you do, don't forget a corkscrew. My Swiss army knife (complete with corkscrew and bottle opener) is on a shoelace round my neck whenever I go camping.

Wellies.
Waterproof coats
Waterproof trousers if you have them.
loo roll.
Soap.
Wet wipes.
matches.
Lots of warm clothes (though hopefully you won't need them).

Balls, frisbees, skipping ropes - outdoor toys.

Wine, corkscrew and nibbles are the most important but others have said those.

Thanx for all your replies. I imagine I will still leave thinking that I have overlooked something (that's just me). It's not a general camping holiday. It's an action- packed festivel type thing for christians called "New Wine". All the entertainment for the week is provided there (they have alsorts going on). I dont know really what to expect but I suppose i'm hoping that I dont need to pop to the shops for extra bits while i'm there.
