Just seen this. Am sure what you have should be ok. Or can they share yours?

We are off camping today and bought the intex toddler air bed with raised sides. It says not to use till age 3 (he’s nearly 2). But we will be by him in our own bed so I’m not too worried. It’s about the same size as his cot at home. I’ll let you know tomorrow how tonight goes 🤞🏻

It’s because air beds have a suffocation risk if a baby ends up face against the bed and it’s a bit deflated. It’s not at all likely to happen to a 1yr old but you can understand why the manufacturers put high minimum age recommendations.
Why does the bed need sides? At that age I used a super basic foam bed roll (insulated sleeping mat?) if the travel cot wouldn’t fit in the tent. They can’t fall off the floor and don’t need a super soft surface to sleep on at that age.

Yes I agree you don't need sides. Unless they're an escape artist 😂

When my son was that age I used a blow up dingy. Glad I did as his nappy leaked and all that got wet was contained. Not all over my bed and easy to clean up just hosed down and left outside to dry.
