Hi all, thinking of driving to France on a camping holiday with DC aged 13 and 11. Ideally Northern france so we don't have to drive too far...can anyone recommend a campsite that has good accommodation, enough to do for tweens and nice pools, lakes and or river swimming? Thanks!

We've not stayed in Northern France but I've looked at www.capfun.co.uk and think my similar aged kids would enjoy.
Last year we went to a campsite in the Netherlands with Eurocamp and the kids had an amazing time - made friends, hired bikes, kicked a ball around etc - was really social for them. The site we went to was De Twee Bruggen. Bit of a long but straightforward drive, but absolutely worth it and we would return.

Port de Plaisance has a high ropes course and indoor tropical pool. New for this coming year is a brand new waterpark area with slides. Domaine des Ormes has similar good facilities and activities.

I would be cautious with Capfun - our experience was that it was very much aimed at the French so may not be suitable for English-speaking kids. Have a look at Yelloh and Eurocamp for ideas and then book something direct with the site - usually works out cheaper. Would recommend getting at least south of the Loire for warmer weather: driving in France is very easy and the motorway network is extensive and well-maintained. Getting a toll tag for the peage allows you to skip the queues.
