How long is your tent?

And do you ever have problems pitching it.

I'm hoping concerned we may have to buy a new one and the ones I like are sometimes 7 metres or more. Our current one is 6 and it often takes up the whole pitch.

Can a tent be too long?

lol at being hungry - has he turned into a teenager?

Ours is sort of a roundy shape with a porch. It just fits on a normal pitch I think it's about 7m long by 5m wide. we ahven't had any problems so far, don't but you have to be careful on some sites as you can end up with the porch right on the edge of the path if you don't position it right.
Flight- I remember our old cabanon frame tent when we were kids, we used to put it up 'on it's knees' and then one on each pole to push it up to full height. Don't know how mum and dad did it when we were tiny!

Lucycat · 28/04/2008 18:39

ahhh thanks for that - cutey!

that's Sebastian not you

PeachesMcLean · 28/04/2008 18:57

Hmm, sounds like we may just have to be a bit creative about which angle we camp at - DH likes to be right along the back of the pitch for some curious reason rather than straight on like a caravan. Thanks all though.

Peachy - thanks for the Raglan tip. I was wanting to ask you where you go for your tents. Any other places around these parts?

there are some Aztec and gelert tents in gwent cmaping, and they are brilliant for accesories. Raglan by far the best, stock khyams, Coleman, Outwell etc otherwise we usually take the trip over to Somerset as there is a fabulous display Sander Garden centre (search taunton leisure)- if there's a tent you specifically fancy worth checking if they have it, less than an hour from here so better than a mistake purchase imo!

(Luce knew it wasnt me- I look rough in that- unfortunately FIL ahs a blown up copy on his wondowsill. Grrrrr!)

PeachesMcLean · 28/04/2008 21:59

Thanks for that. Not sure I'd go as far as Somerset to look at a tent But will check out the Gwent and Raglan ones in a few weeks. need to check the existing tent though first to ensure its full NOT full of holes first.
