My Vango self inflating mat has just been delivered, how to I inflate/deflate?

I'm so excited! DH is yawning a lot and rolling his eyes, he isn't a camper. I presume I just unroll it and release the stopper and it inflates, which I have done, but it doesn't seem terribly firm. How about deflating?

I think you have to inflate and deflate a couple of times before it becomes impressive. You can blow into the valve until it's really firm. Deflate by undoing stopper and rolling up. When you then unroll it it should inflate nicely. I usually top mine off with a quick blow, so to speak!

it does sound rather rude doesn't it. I thought that this morning when I told DH that I couldn't wait to show him my Vango. His eyes lit up and he was so disappointed when he realised it was a camping mat.

you need to make sure you do not store them rolled up as this will casue problems when you use it , best leave them unrolled under the settie or bed and roll up when you need to transport them
