Need a friendly campsite 30/45 mins from Southampton please help

My friend would like to take her campervan for it's first outing. Can anyone recommend a site within 30/45 minutes of Southampton/Romsey. She doesn't want a caravan site with a club etc but rather somewhere more basic but with electric. She will have 2 small children with her. Thanks in anticipation of the wisdom I hope to receive!

never been in there myself as is only round the corner so wouldnt need to go camping there iyswim! but seems nice enough... quiet, clean, all the electricity etc...

There's a couple of forestry commission campsites in the New Forest - www.forestholidays.co.uk

We stayed at Roundhill and it was absolutely lovely - not that many facilities though, only toilets and maybe showers.

red shoot campsite is small but very child friendly
right next to nice pub in the middle of the new forest.
