I have seen that lidl are selling folding crates which I'm going to get to store stuff in inside the tent.
Picnic blankets are in Poundland for £1.

We have a double blow up airbed but I like the look of the self inflators, not sure what's best for 3 under 6 tho'.

Shall we get sleeping bags or use their quilts?

Use sleeping bags and quilts. What about your lamps and torches? Water carrier thing too.

A bucket with a lid Absolute necessity IMO lol

They sell torches in Wilkos for about £4 that have 2 settings.

do you sleep on the sleeping bags and put quilt over you or layer them both on top?

What weighting for children?

What kind of water carrier? I was thinking big plastic bottle

Picnic blankets go under the mattress. Believe me this is a real necessity. We sleep in bags with huge duvets on top. Thick camping socks at night too.
We have a camping water carrier but big bottle will be fine.

Folding/camping chairs?

Where do you lot go camping?! I have never used extra blankets / woolly socks in bed, etc - just a sleeping bag and a very hot DH , but then we only really camp in summer, and main hol is in France.

Well, only camped in the UK and it is usually bloody cold and wet. Never used a hook up pitch with electric. I do fantasise about it though....

Filly! I went back to the Baltic and bought moomin cups and plates!!

No I've decided to 'wimp it' at first and take everything, then slowly give back discard items we don't use to reduce the amount we take each time, provided we aren't divorced after the maiden voyage.

I have jam and bunting but I do think I may need more in the way of essential luxuries for the first time, besides I'm having trouble finding that shell.

Rightho, thanks for that, I think I'm reasonably sorted now. Though I will most likely panic again and head back for more nerve soothing and reassurance.

Woolly/thermal hats for everyone. If you get cold at night in bed, a woolly hat makes a major difference (along with thermal socks, of course). At this time of year, definitely sleeping bags and duvets if they'll fit in.

Head torches are great if you can get them (Argos do them amongst other places) - free up your hands for other things - particualrly handy for putting up your tent in the dark in case you are as disorganised as us.

Pans/cooking utensils? Washing up bowl, kitchen towel and Wet Ones. Loo roll.

Loads of games and/or a football.

Tin opener/bottle opener/corkscrew (unless you bring the wine box of course)
