Delay arrival?

So, we booked a weeks holiday, camping to the Gower, months ago. We are going with 2 other families.

We have booked from this Saturday but the weather looks terrible (not just driving rain, 30mph wind!)

Our family have been camping for years and we know our tents well but the others haven’t. One has never camped in a tent and is also a bit of a moaner. The rest of the week also looks terrible but less windy.

I am seriously considering suggesting we delay our arrival by one day. We are there for a week. What do you think? I’m a bit sad by the whole thing tbh because I want to show off the Gower and I am fed up of telling people that it doesn’t always rain in Wales!

I would arrive as planned and just be ready to support the moaner less hardy campers getting settled.

It's not camping if there is no wind or rain!

Putting up in wind is always the hardest bit, but it can also mean that you put it up well for what could be a tricky week. If there's a lot of you, you can each help by holding each other's tent as you go around pegging and guying it. Once you're up it'll be cosy and dry. Find a big piece of cardboard to act as a door mat for rain and mud.

Or you could go as the advance party and tell the moaner to come a day late! 😉
