Which festival tent?

Can anyone recommend a festival tent - will need to last five days. I know there will be previous threads on this over the years but tents seem to have come on a lot recently. Thank you.

Decathlon have a good selection, depends what your criteria is for a good festival tent though...

What's the budget? Cheap and good for a few years, or pricier and long lasting?
Loads of tents around from £30 to £300!

Get a decathlon pop up 3 man.

Great value, double skin so no condensation problems and will last years.

Eurohike some tents were always the choice years ago!

Dome tents!

A tent should be able to last you a lot longer than 5 days, take it home and use it the next year and the next. You will need more than a one man by the time you have all of your gear in there too. I have a 3 man Vango for festivals which has a small porch, they dont make it now but it stood up to torrential rain, wind and mud. The Vango Tay200 looks OK for £95 if you want to spend that sort of money. Do not go for a pop up tent, you will regret it if the weather is anything but dry.

There's a 3 man 2 seconds tent with fresh and black technology ( adjustable air vents so you can control through breeze plus dark inner lining so you can sleep in the day) for £120 on the website at the moment which is perfect for you and enough kit for 5 days.

We have decent tents that I'm not letting him take, so a cheap one. He will be responsible but you never know who's going to fall into it etc. He will bring it home to use again for festivals.

We've used Quechua seconds tents in all weathers and they have been brilliant: and still rainproof at 16 years old.

Mine used to take this tent to festivals, and it lasted years:

You could also look at the Tamar 3 or this:

Look at respective weights, also of the Decathlon pop ups. And how he will carry them. The Millets tents are a roll and can be attached above or below a rucksack, the Decathlon pop ups are in a quite big disc shaped bag.

If you go for pop-up get him to learn how to get it folded back down before he goes

Tesco and Asda do cheap basic tents that can last a while if looked after.

If they are expecting a lie in after the night before I highly suggest a Fresh and Black tent and if they don't want to be faffing about putting it up I would suggest either a pop up or a air beam type. Decathlon sell them both. I'd also suggest bringing some bunting or lights so they can tell them apart from all the other fresh & blacks that are so popular at festivals.
