Please help me find a water-side campsite!

As the title says, my family and I are looking for a water-side campsite in Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex or basically anywhere within a 2hr drive from Saffron Waldon!

Ideally we want to camp near enough to a body of water that we don’t have to get in the car or walk a long distance to reach it. Happy to be by a river, lake, or seaside. Any suggestions?

The Hollies at Kessingland fits the bill. The campsite is on a cliff with a staircase down to the beach. They are bbqs/firepits, have decent toilets and shower and very family friendly. We are going for our third year this summer.

There’s loads of campsites in East Runton in Norfolk that are near the beach. I haven’t been in years but was taken there on family holidays as a child.

Completely agree; it's like having your own private beach! And when we were there, we were pitched in a gorgeous field with loads of space around us.

Cambridgeshire- st Neots gas a camping and caravaning site that is right on the riverside . Not a big site and fairly basic but clean

Rushbanks Farm

Just got back from Waterside Meadows at Houghton Mill near Huntingdon. You can pitch paddle boards/muck about in the river directly from the site. Immaculate facilities and nice and shady. Wish I was still there now!
