Anyone been camping on Isle of Wight?

Did a day trip there last year and thought it would be a great place to take the kids.

Grange Farm Camping looks nice.

I've been to that site several years ago (over 10 years!) and it looks like they've added a lot of things since then but it was a nice enough campsite at the time. I do remember it was pretty windy as it's on the clifftop so something to factor in but a nice setting right above the sea.

I've been camping in the Isle of Wight three times. Really liked it the first couple of times but didn't much enjoy our last trip in 2021. That was mainly because we were unlucky with the weather - as is always a possibility when camping in the UK. Previous two trips had nice weather. It was also super-crowded everywhere but I think that is likely because people weren't travelling abroad because of the pandemic.

Isle of Wight has lots of stuff for kids. The west coast is my favourite part as the beaches are great there - also good for fossil hunting. It's less built up, which I liked, but does mean you have to drive a bit for a decent sized supermarket. I think there was a small supermarket fairly nearby. You are quite close to both the Needles and Blackgang Chine (somewhat dated but my DC loved it!). Nowhere on the IOW is particularly far away to drive to though.

Thank you @Forever42 - good point about the cliff/windyness (I've stopped going to local campsite because it's too exposed and windy...). Will take a look at the West.
