Interested in what people use.
We currently have a Land Rover Freelander for towing.

I love it. Can tow up to 3 ton apparently but our van is about half that weight. Got a covered back which the dogs travel in so the main cab doesn't smell of wet dog.....

MsMiaWallace · 26/09/2022 09:23

@Azandme do you rate your Santa Fe for towing?

We used to have a VOLVO XC90 and it was great but expensive to run and for tyres/repairs.
Replaced with a Santa Fe and it was brilliant, loved that car, towed a 6 berth twin ankle with no problems and flew up hills.
A couple of years ago we gave up caravanning as all the kids have grown up now, we traded in the Santa Fe for a (smaller) Tucson, but we have developed a recent hankering for a small 2 berth van.
It's interesting that some of you tow with a Tucson as ours is only a 1.6 petrol version and I wasn't sure if it would be powerful enough?
I couldn't recommend Hyundai highly enough. Our Santa Fe had 140k on the clock and still drove like it was New.

Azandme · 02/10/2022 09:15

@MsMiaWallace absolutely, it'll tow all day long, up hill and down dale - and you barely know there's anything on the back.

We pulled a big twin axle, and it was so good.

Excellent mileage whilst towing too. Plus it's really comfortable. I love my car!

We bought a Santa Fe last week!
I'm blown away with the features.
Not towed yet. Next trip is Halloween weekend so will see then.
