Sorry if this is in the wrong place !
Since I was a kid I’ve wanted a camper van, I’ve even been and looked around some. But I’m not sure it would be right for me. I’m aware of insurance, MOT and servicing, but what other financial things are there ?
Now I’m approaching retirement I’d love to be able to explore all corners of the country.

What a marmite subject!

I would definitely say hire a few different models and sizes to see what suits you in terms of facilities, ease of driving and manoeuvring, fuel costs, how convenient it is to find sites etc.

If you did decide to buy, I should think there are a lot of lockdown vans going on sale, probably with a free lockdown dog!

We went tent camping in the Lakes in the pissing rain in summer 2020. The family next to us had a California and a golden Labrador. I seriously considered tying them up in the toilet blocks with guy ropes and stealing their life such was my jealousy. I managed to persuade my husband on the van front but not the dog unfortunately!

We had a Bongo, which was great but they are all old now and not hugely reliable.

We've just bought one of these Very little to go wrong, no road tax, no MOT. And a bed that's bigger than a king size.

You will need a tow bar, but it's so small and light that virtually any car can tow it.

Might be a cheaper option?

I want a Go Pod now!!
