Planning a cycle to campsite overnight trip, what to pack??

There are 5 of us. 2 cycling independently, one on a tagalong and I'm going to be pulling a cargo trailer. One child will manage a backpack and DH and I will, and we have panniers on mine too. It will be tight for space I think

So we reckon

  • tents - probably 2 pop ups
  • 5 sleeping bags, no pillows
  • 5 sleeping mats ( these might have to go)
  • change of clothes each, possibly nightwear
  • night miscellany - kids rabbits, night pants, my ear plugs and eye mask
  • book each, ball or other small toy
  • hats, jumpers and body warmers
  • water bottles, tea mugs
  • something for bfast, whatever cutlery required.
  • milk, gas stove and tea bags (essential!!)

What haven't I thought of?

torch/head torch
battery packs (for phones)

what are you doing about footwear -- crocs are good for adults at campsites

extra socks. I'd sleep in day wear as much as possible.
powered milk, surely?
I couldn't cope without sleep mat.
tent ground sheet -- another thing I won't travel without
put day clothes in pillow cases as pillows ?

Great ideas thanks! Powdered milk will have to be if desperate!

We might cycle in crocs, we often do abroad. But socks is very important!

Also torches is good. And I've thought of booze!

For gods sake don't leave the sleeping mats behind! You'll freeze your arse off.

Looks good!
First aid kit and bike repair kit
Picnic blanket (invaluable if you're not taking anything to sit on)
Warm clean socks to sleep in
Rain clothes (unless you're lucky enough to be somewhere sunny!)
Agree don't ditch the sleeping mats, I feel cold thinking about it Wink
Have a great time!
