We're doing three nights in Dorset with the campervan. Booked a site right on the cliff with fab views. It's just me and DH and we're looking to park up and just chill (hopefully not literally!) for the weekend.

Is that Highlands End? Lovely campsite.
We have just been at a Temporary Holiday Site in Lymington, only £10/night and it runs until 24/4, so may do another weekend, yet there are a lot of other THS’s running over Easter to choose from - if you are a member of the C&CC.
We stay at Burton Bradstock most August Bank holidays at another THS as that part of Dorset is one of my favourite places.

We got a campervan a few weeks ago and we've booked C&CC certified site near Oxford. It will be our first attempt to put the air awning up, so that might take most of the first afternoon...

Good luck with the 'divorce in a bag'! We can't decide whether to do the proper awning for three nights or just put up the canopy. It's only the second time we've put the big one up and last time the air was quite blue!

We are camping this weekend at Williams Den. Last year was our first camping experience and we lost our tent to the dreadful Norfolk storms! This year we are back, with a 2nd hand trailer tent I found on marketplace!
Having 2 nights this weekend as a trial, to see what extras we actually need ahead of our 14 (!!) Night stay in August at Ladys Mile Dawlish. DH, I, DD6, DD1 and Ddog.

We are going to Walesby Forest again. DH got me a campbed for Christmas so hopefully more comfortable this year. (I have an old injury that seizes up overnight camping despite only being 35...)

We are taking the caravan to Devon for a week. We have normally been away before Easter week, but we have been busy and it has been chilly. So we are going to have to try extra hard to remember everything

ditavonteesed · 11/04/2022 07:48

@Aroundtheworldin80moves we went to Walesby forest last weekend, first time ever camping with our camper van, it's such a lovely place will definitely go again.

Libertybear80 · 11/04/2022 08:22

At Walesby Forest now 🤣🤣 it's quiet right now.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 11/04/2022 08:24

We went to Walesby twice last year. We are about 30mins away so handy for a weekend (especially with the kids extracurricular activities not finishing until 8pm... DH can set up camp, I can collect them and drive over!)

Oblomov22 · 11/04/2022 08:29

Dh and Ds2 are going to Dorset. We've had a caravan there for 15+ years. He'll use it as a check weekend, make sure the awning is ok etc. I have little holiday left, so might go down Friday. We don't normally go at Easter because it's so friggin cold, miserable and normally pissing with rain. But Dh predicts heatwave, and he has tonnes of holiday left, and I think post covid we all need to take every opportunity available to us, because we've been denied so much.

Libertybear80 · 11/04/2022 08:39

You can't beat camping. 😁

Who is camping over Easter and where are you going?
GigantosaurusRex · 11/04/2022 09:13

We are going this afternoon, fairly local but it's the first chance we've had to sleep in the van. I'm excited but I'm worried about how cold it is. Van isn't properly converted, we've got a bed system and DS7 will be sleeping along the front 3 seats (we have bodged a bed there) but although we have bought an electric hook up we don't have a heater. We have thermals, many layers, foil blankets, fleece blankets, hot water bottles and duvets so I'm probably going to cook us all instead. I can't make it through the night without a wee and usually have a wee in a potty in the corner of the tent - DH says I'm not using a potty in his van, so I will be trekking in the cold to the loos!!!

MsMiaWallace · 13/04/2022 09:51

We're not too far from Walesby. Might have a look.
I hear Sherwood Pines is good.

We're off to a CCC site this weekend near Drayton Manor.
Weathers looking good.

PlugUgly1980 · 13/04/2022 09:58

We've got 5 nights near Cromer, then 3 nights next weekend in the Yorkshire Dales, followed by a few nights in Northumberland the weekend after that. We've already had a couple of short breaks this year in the Peaks and Yorkshire Dales. We love our van (DC6 & 8). Hoping for warm enough weather for paddling in the sea and BBQ'ing this weekend, compared to our last breaks which between them included torrential rain and snow!

demotedreally · 13/04/2022 11:48

What is going on with the weather?

MrsMigginsCat · 14/04/2022 19:34

We've just packed the van and are ready for the off in the morning. Weather is looking quite good too. Happy Camping all!

Seriously regretting not packing shorts right now!

Faircastle · 15/04/2022 15:24

I'm in a t-shirt and shorts.

We got the air awning up, and we're still speaking to each other.

UnctuousUnicorns · 15/04/2022 19:36

We're going home tomorrow, after spending eleven nights in Lancashire and three nights in Northumberland in our touring caravan. The site we're at just now has filled up with the Easter weekenders. I'm just watching the sun set through the trees. 🙂
