Any recommendations for reasonably priced campsites walking distance or close by to beautiful beaches in the gower or the St ives/Newquay Side of Cornwall?

4 nights camping, preferably electric hook up but not a nessessity.

Thinking in advance for next year
Thanks 😊

Polmanter in St Ives is in a great location and has all the facilities you could wish for including heated pool, games room, and tennis court.

If you want a slightly quieter campsite, Gwithian Farm is nice. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the beach from the back of the campsite. There’s a pub directly opposite, regular food vans on site and the campsite allows bbqs. It also has its own little shop which serves coffee.

I have camped at Ayr Holiday Park in St Ives and it was lovely. It's about 5 minute walk from Porthmeor Beach and I think is the only campsite actually in St Ives.

Also the facilities are sooooo luxurious. Underfloor heating and lovely showers.

Newgale campsite is opposite the beach and it's lovely, not the gower though I don't think but on Pembrokeshire coast.

We camped at Freshwater east last year, loved it. Literally 2 mins to the beach but is caravan club site. Then we moved to Carlton Bay in Cornwall, which we hit just at peak heatwave and was AMAZING! stunning beach and the campsite was lovely with 2 outdoor pools and a real Mediterranean feel.

Gophering · 12/08/2021 19:25

Wooda Farms? It’s pretty close to Bude.

Three Cliffs Bay holiday park in Gower - friends have stayed there and loved it.

FlyingFlamingo · 12/08/2021 19:56

Nicholaston Farm, Three Cliffs or Hill End on Gower

TinyTroubleMaker · 12/08/2021 20:01

Camping caravanning club has a Sennen Cove site, pretty basic facilities compared with some pp but at least a hot shower and cheap Grin the CCC Bude site similar.

Livedandlearned · 12/08/2021 20:25

Pitton Cross at the Gower is lovely

Been to both of these campsite

They were both lovely

I've camped at Hillend on the Gower a few times years ago. There's not much around locally but its got a good shop and cafe. It's set just behind the dunes so just a short hop to the massive beach. Good showers for surfers!

Heyha · 12/08/2021 21:37

The Gower is fabulous and this place is really nice, a proper spacious but well-resourced site www.gowercamping.co.uk/

Treago campsite near Polly Joke beach Cornwall

OverByYer · 12/08/2021 21:52

I’d second Three Cliffs or Nicholaston Farm

user64325 · 12/08/2021 21:59

Nicholaston is amazing, you can walk down through the woods (past a huge tree swing) and on to Nicholaston beach or you can walk left from the campsite and walk to the top of three cliffs for an amazing view. Their shop is well stocked and they sell fresh pizza until 8pm every day, and croissants etc in the morning, toilets are clean and well kept, showers are really nice and clean too. Free use of fridges and freezers, big washing machines and dryers, local takeaway vans twice a week and most importantly amazing views. What more could anyone ask for?

TinaYouFatLard · 12/08/2021 22:03

There’s a great campsite right on the beach at Port Eynon on the Gower. Great rockpooling, close to a pub and fish and chip shop, fantastic walks and breathtaking scenery.

The only downside is the manager actually is the most obnoxious jobsworth I’ve ever met! I looked up some reviews after we left and they are hilarious.

TinaYouFatLard · 12/08/2021 22:07

It’s called Skysea which is a change from when we went. Looking at more reviews I would guess there’s been a change of ownership. Highly recommended in that case.

Im planning camping in Cornwall next month in our new camper so thank you for asking the question I wanted to ask. Great suggestions! 😀

Mumheadflop · 14/08/2021 13:39

Nicholaston Farm, Three Cliffs or Hill End on Gower
These are on my must stay at list
AngelsWithSilverWings · 14/08/2021 18:15

We've just come back from Three Cliffs and it's really lovely. The beach is a proper hike along a very steep track but it's worth it.

We were in a tent so asked for a pitch away from the cliffs and left the sea view pitches to the people brave enough to cope with the wind. Wise move based on the carnage I witnessed during an overnight storm!

We also drove ten mins up the road to Oxwich Bay where there is a car park where you can practically park on the beach with toilets plus a cafe. That is a better option if you like to take a lot of stuff to the beach and it's £6 to park all day.
