Advice for buying a tourer…

Hi all! Looking to buy a four berth tourer and hoping you guys can give me some advice on what to look for! Budget is about 5K. I live in Yorkshire so been looking within about 50 miles of where I live. Are there variations in price according to region or is it fairly standard? Just so I can get an idea of what might be reasonable.
Any top tips of things to ask or look out for when viewing a caravan?
And fingers crossed we find something we like, any tourer hacks I should know about to make things run more smoothly?
Many thanks in advance Smile

Check for damp
Also under neath chassis
One thing for us was a separate shower not a shower over the toilet.
I would have liked a fixed bed mattress but shower was more important

This guide has some useful information www.caravanclub.co.uk/advice-and-training/advice-for-beginners/caravans/.
Before you start looking for a caravan you need to find out if your car is suitable for towing and what weight it will tow and also if your licence allows you to tow.
I would also suggest going to caravan dealers and looking at as many caravans as you can to decide which layout works best for you. I don't know if it has changed since the pandemic but the best time to buy a caravan was always winter as people were getting rid of their caravans once summer was over.
This website has a brilliant forum with some very knowledgeable and friendly members who will give you any advice you need. www.ukcampsite.co.uk.

Make sure You see everything working when you go to view it. If possible get a professional caravan engineer to do a proper damp test, Any honest seller would have no problem with this.
Ask to see the service history, again any decent seller would supply this.

Thanks all! We currently tow a smaller caravan which we converted into a bar, so my partner has checked the towing capacity of our vehicle, so that’s that covered.
From what I have seen so far, I much prefer those with separate showers too! I don’t want to be showering over a toilet!
I will take a look at those links, thank you.
