Has anyone got seat belts on a rock and roll bed?

Hi there,

We have just purchased our first van. It has 3 seats in the front and in the back at the moment there is a rock and roll bed/seat. There are 4 of us so we either need to get some belts put on it so one of us can sit there for journeys but is it safe enough? Is it legal? We would obviously get a professional to fit them. TIA X

There are all sorts of rock and roll beds out there with seatbelts and they can be retrofitted. But it is important to get one that’s crash tested if you are planning on actually using them.

You can get isofix rock and rolls as well if you have little ones.
There are also u shaped crash tested ones that can have seatbelts that will turn it into a 7 seater but these won’t work with a fitted kitchen.

It’s the seat / bed that should be crash tested by the manufacturer prior to them selling them. You’ll need to know the make / who did the conversion.
Some have, some haven’t.

If they haven’t it’s not a big problem, but you just might adjust who you put in the back.
