Everytime I find a caravan old enough to convert someone has already done it up

I'm after a 60/70s caravan as the arr (I understand) made differently to new ones and can be converted to a shop more easily

And when ever I find one someone has done it up so its all shabby chic or cath kidson and it feels mean to destroy it!
Great!

& yes I know I am daft!

Same here, just keep looking and widen search area.

Are you looking for one to do up or convert?

I may have to destroy someone's work if I cant find what I need soon and it makes me so sad

But you are right, keep on trucking

Does anyone know when they changed to fibreglass construction?

Oo that's a good idea

The Glen Thomson has damp and the other one is on my watch list - I have asked the caravan guy about it

I nearly got an aliminium one which would have been fab but I fell asleep just before it ended Sad

I want a pre fibreglass one really (i think)

80s ones seem too new in their construction (as I want to cut a bit hole in the side)

Have a look at how George clark did his if you build a frame then cut the side out its ok but you really need to know what you are doing

I'm paying a company to do it as I am a total dork when it comes to DIY etc

I've seen a very unstable imo one recently but as my dad was a structural engineer I have a good idea about how stresses work (plus I did a year of naval architecture)

Mine is a bit more boring but fingers crossed it works

Problem is allowing for transport (as many cant be towed) they often go above my budget - I just missed another one

Have you thought about a horse trailer?

KatyMac · 08/11/2020 16:49
