Hi taking our 2 yr old camping for the first time soon and wondering what people recommend taking? Or any general tips/Hacks?

We are in a bell tent, have no electricity and will be cooking on a fire or little camping stove. We are not very experienced!
Thanks

Most stoves with a double burner require a gas bottle: I wouldn’t bother with that til you know you will be regular campers.

Have one of you be 100% on toddler-watch while the other cooks.

Take millions of wipes. They are useful for everything.

Have a great trip!

That was me that recommended the double burner. I didn't realise OP was talking about a weekend glamping in a ready tent. We use it for 2 weeks in France, I agree it's not necessary if camping only going to be a one off.

Travel cot, potty, wellies, good cool box.

I would take a two ring stove (they usually have a grill too), pasta, jars of sauce, cheese, tinned tuna, eggs, rice, cous cous... toddler can play nearby in the travel cot whilst you’re cooking.

Beanie hat for at night in case it’s chilly. Small gazebo or tarp to extend your shelter if you’re not in a large tent. Picnic blankets with plastic backing.

My kids have camped since they were babies and still love it now they’re in their 20s and 30s.

I’ve just seen the post before mine. Just take the travel cot! Grin

If you want rice, take the microwave pouches, empty into a pan and quickly reheat with a splash of water: you don’t want to be boiling stuff for ages. Straight-to-wok noodles also handy.

Stuffed pasta (tortellini) with a stir through sauce. Add tinned sweet corn to the pan for veg.

Take Parmesan shavings done ready in a little sandwich bag, so you don’t feel you are slumming it.

These are all been such great help thank you so much. Have lots of ideas and tips. Will definitely be taking a frozen curry for the first night and tons and tons of snacks
