Sorry noob question are corkscrew tent pegs hammered in the same way ?

With a mallet ? I needed some more tent pegs as mine are twisted to buggery

Surely you just wind them in like, er, a corkscrew?

Do you mean like an actual corkscrew (like a coil with a gap down the centre), or just squared metal twisted like a drill bit.

And why don't you try straightening the ones you've got? It's not difficult. Hammer. Surface. Tent peg between two. Keep hitting and turning till near enough straightness is achieved.

Are these the hard ground pegs that people put in with a drill?

We have those with our caravan awning, my husband brings a drill (as the name suggests, they screw in)
