I want to try camping with my 3 kids and DH (kids all between 8-12)
Looking for an air tent with 2 rooms at least but have no clue! Are air tents worth it rather than rods? I am looking at a budget of £400-£600 is that reasonable?
Some come offering footprints and carpet? Eh!?
What other items would you consider v important? Looking at electric hook up sites.
Thanks so much all!

these are examples of air tents, pricey. you could try second hand but i would not recommend it.You need to be able to set up the tent before parting with cash or risk getting a moldy tent

i suggest its cheaper see what you make of camping before making a big investment.Use bedding from home, air beds are cheaper

i recommend a footprint they stop the underside getting muddy so you pack away a clean tent and hose down the foot print later

Decathlon have a couple. My camping mad friend loves her one!

I bought my air tent second hand and in perfect condition.

Because it's a relatively knew trend you'll find some exceptional bargains on FB market place. People are simply upgrading, downsizing or going into motor homes etc.

I'd never buy a tent without seeing it pitched and the seller shouldn't expect you to either.

I'm also not sure why anyone would presently buy poled instead of air.

I can pitch a 6 man air by myself. And it only weighs 20kilos.

You can buy/carry spare beams, like you would poles.

we've got the berghaus air 4 (there's only 3of us) and it's lasted really well, although one of the cheaper makes, maybe the air 6 would be in your budget?

I don't think we'd go back to piles now - goes up and down so easy, and no danger of a pill snapping in a storm - we've had a couple of wild nights in western isles, but the tent has stood up well

We bought the berghaus 6xl air recently but we paid £672 for it from Blacks so keep an eye out on their sales. It was reduced slightly then had a % off, I think they do this regularly.

Is that your budget for the tent or for everything?

Go to somewhere like Go Outdoors and see the tents set up. Go as large as you can afford. Get warm sleeping bags and a decent cool box.

We have never gone to an elec hook up pitch. If you’re looking to camp this summer, book up soon!
