tent to caravan- need long bed & shower question

We're campers thinking of becoming caravanners.

DH is 6'4" with a bad back, can anyone recommend a good caravan with good mid-section height and long beds please?

Also, if you're on a non-serviced pitch how much water does a shower get through. If a family of 4 had a hair-washing shower each would it cope or need refilling part way?

My DH is pretty long too. The fixed beds are more comfortable as they have a proper mattress but they maybe too short for your DH and then you as the corner is cut off.

We normally sleep on the sofa in the main seating area which will pull out into almost a king bed or on the sofas themselves as they are really long.

For comfort look at duvalay. Really expensive but a lot more comfortable. If your cheap like me a good mattress topper and ensure you are turning over the seat cushions and sleeping along them (DH initially made the beds for the sofa cushions where horizontal to us not vertical which was agony until we changed them).

Water depends on getting a good shower and how long you have showers for. I would say two of you would be able to have quick ish showers comfortably but then I would fill up the aqua roll (you could always get two Aqua rolls) but your waste water would also be overflowing (campervans Store more water on board)

Hi we have a crusader superstorm and the bed is really long. My husband is nearly 6ft and there is still a lot of room at his feet. The bed goes side to side across the back. We have a feather topper from john lewis and use emperor sheets and duvet as that was what we had spare which work really well.

Non serviced showers are awful. We did them a few times but very quickly realised it isnt a holiday if you have to endlessly fill up a water tank and empty waste.

I reckon they did 1.5 people very very quickly.

Swift have some great double beds, this one is 7f5 “ as a double at the front

Having caravend with someone of 6f7” It not much help standing in the middle

Thanks all, looks like non-serviced pitch showers are fairly pointless! I'll look into the bed suggestions, thank you Flowers

I’ve got a version of the swift super sprite- the front bed I’d huge, over 7’ by 5’, if you have the 6 berth one, the middle double is a good size too.

We've never had a problem with non serviced pitches. We don't use the shower much but 2 adults and 2 children can all shower on one aquaroll if they turn the shower off in between ie when using soap.

So,e of the swifts are now slightly wider but apart from that they are all pretty much the same. Quality with British vans is rubbish.

But he's, lots better than tents
