Panicking about camping with a 1 year old!!

We’re heading to st ives in the summer and we’re taking our trailer tent. At first I was worried about where he would sleep as when we took our eldest (when he was 1) we took an inflatable bed that was raised around the sides so he couldn’t roll out. But that took up the entire bed!! But I’ve found a travel cot that will fit in the middle of the beds phewwww!

But in my head I just assumed he would be walking by then (my first was walking at 9 months) and how silly of me to think they would be the same lol how do I tackle it with a crawling baby?? I imagined days out at the beach but I can’t let him crawl all over the beach lol I think I’m panicking for no reason but has anyone else taken babies this young? He will be turning 1 while we are away

TIA

You need a full length waterproof suit and booties for the grass, it will be damp in the morning. Of course your baby can crawl on the beach, they will have great fun! Embrace the dirt. The biggest problem with camping when they are that small is keeping them away from the fire.

So you’re going in the summer? There’s plenty of time for baby to learn to walk by then if he’s going to.
IME babies are not keen on crawling on the sand so will probably sit happily on a beach towel with toys. Take a small inflatable paddling pool for him to play in.

We took ds2 camping when he was 1 and we had a lovely time!
Definitely an all-in-one waterproof for the campsite and warm clothes to sleep in. As long as you're not too precious about a bit of dirt (and/or sand) all will be well.

Not bothered about him getting dirty just concerned of vast amounts being eaten lol

Good idea on the all in one water proofs 🙌
