my dh was a keen fisherman in his younger days and the boys got into it, hence the coolbox normally used for beers etc was home to maggots and worms

LaCod · 02/09/2007 18:41

What was the playground like Cod? The only thing I would fault with where we went was the playground was a bit run down and nor much in it....

Was the on-site restaurant any good? and how did it work out having to drive to the beach - was parking ok or a nightmare?

(We were in La Tranche and plan to go back to the Vendee next year but maybe a different site...

MB - a friend of ours who lived in France for many years told me that E Leclerc was the equivalent of Asda! She reckoned Carrefour was the most Waitrose-like. But usually in a resort there is only one supermarket (unless you want to spend holidays driving around comparing Auchan v Champion v Intermarche etc etc).

The Carrefour we went to was more Tescos than Waitroses (though there was a pungent small - cheese I think - which you wouldn't normally get in Tescos!)
