Italian lakes (Maggiore etc) ??

Does anyone have any recommendations for campsites in northern Italy / Italian lakes eg Maggiore, Como ) - Ideally walking distance to town / not too huge ? Thanks v much !

Watching with interest! We've just booked the first week in May at Camping Weekend, on the west shore of Lake Garda. It looks nice and small, and you can walk to Salo but very steep so might not want to! So we're hiring a car as well.

Were you thinking not Garda - as you mention Como and Maggiore?

Also following as I haven’t been yet, but trying to persuade DH to swap France for Italy one year, and stop at these lakes before heading to the Venice area in our Campervan.
The sites I have bookmarked so far (from the ACSI app) are
Camping Orchidea, walking distance from Feriolo, on Lake Maggiore
Camping Orta on Lake Orta
And lots of options on Lake Garda

I haven’t stayed at but I’ve driven past camping orta when staying nearby and if going there try and get one of the pitches by the water they look amazing as I noticed each one has own steps down into lake !

Camping Eden is small by European standards. It’s perfectly situated and within easy walking distance of Portese.
