my criteria

must get eurotunnel - therefore the drive cannot be a long way from calais, certainly not more than 3 hours

the site must accomodate a 5 year old

and ..................... FOUR teenagers, two of which will be sexed up and therefore not a problem leaving two almost 15 year olds to be entertained one is a girl who would spend the vacation reading and sulking.

needs to have much tacky entertainment like quizzes and kareoke.

needs to have a decent pool avec SLIDE

obv. goes without saying needs a bar.

will bump shamelessly until i have links to look at during my dinner hour which starts ......now

We have thought about going here. Is there much to see/do outside the park? Are the beaches any good (Can't see DH spending more than a few days on rides - he likes to explore).

Blandmum · 22/09/2007 21:41

there is a big , claen beach neerby. there are also local places to visit, like Shreviningen (there is a sea life centre there as well as the beach). The hauge has lots of art / museums etc. we have been to the bulb fields (we go at easter though, later in the summer that would be pointless), to the miniature city are Madurodam. Amsterdam is about an hour away. in fact all of holland is about an hour away!

that said out kids love it there and would stay on site all day, every day

Hi, we have been to Duinrell twice so far and agree with everyone else, it is indeed fab! Another good idea for a daytrip is Space Expo www.spaceexpo.nl in Noordwijk (about 10 minutes drive from Duinrell. We brought the DSs last year when they were 13 and 7, and they really enjoyed it. It is quite educational too.

is space expo any good for 4 and 5 year olds? they loved the space centre in Leics. thanks

sonicthegoldfish · 26/09/2007 12:11

Yes, if they are interested in that kind of thing generally there are lots of things there that they would enjoy. There is also a little gift shop and cafe and some play equipment outside if they do get bored.

Leslaki · 26/09/2007 18:12

gift shop will nail it for DD (4)!!! Ds will love it as into anything spacey! I'll be as bored as I was at Kennedy in FL while DH acts like a big kid. maybe I could leave em to it and chill!!!
