Anyone stayed at Le Bois de Valmarie site?

Have just booked this on a total whim for May half term in the Eurocamp January sale. Anyone been? We have been to Esterel on the Côte d’Azur for the past three May breaks as we really enjoy all the stuff we can do in the area (plus the weather is nice and it’s not too crowded at that time of year), but felt the need to branch out a bit this year. Will we be disappointed? Kids are 6 and 4.

We stayed nearby at La Sirene and our kids had a blast, it’s a great area.

Other sites worth considering Further along the coast are Camping Les Méditerranée, 3 sites in one town, we have stayed at 2, one right on the beach (camping beach garden) and there is loads fo4 the kids.

We have been to Argeles-sur-Mer a few times and stayed at Valmarie a couple of years ago . Just me and DH but there were lots of younger children there.

It is a lovely site, Really good bar /restaurant, reasonably priced shop and the pool area is just beautiful . The site is walkable to racou beach, the port and marina and the shops and amusements by the beach in Argeles-sur-Mer. You will not need to get in the car everyday

There is not a lot of room for children to ride bikes on tne site as it is on a hill and very tight with very little open space ( but loads of space on the promenade in Angeles)

We love the area. You can take the boat to Collioure and get the bus back or vv . Bus stops right outside the campsite. You can also ride the bus to Perpignan We drove along the coast to Spain for the day.

If the weather is warm an alternative to the beach and pool is the lake at Villeneuve de la Raho ( on the road to Perpignan ) it’s very shallow and safe and warms up quickly . Nearby in Elne there is a tropical butterfly place which your children might enjoy ..

Carcassonne is about 90 miles away but it’s a good road and doable as a day trip and is very different from Argeles.

It’s a great choice of campsite for younger children. I hope you all have a lovely time.
