Best campsite; Scotland

Just that really. We usually only do 2/3 nights if the weathers good. We’d like to maybe try a week somewhere.

Our favourite campsite is Cobleland, just outside Aberfoyle but been there so often worried kids might get a bit bored if we stayed any longer than a few nights.

So hit me with your favourite spots...

We stayed in a lovely site just off the beach in Islay. It was a bit exposed though.

Blair Castle Caravan Park is perhaps the best ‘organised’ site I’ve stayed at in Scotland. It’s a large and very well run withexcellent facilities and has a large area of grass in the centre which is great for kids. The site is in Highland Perthshire, within the Cairngorms National Park. Blair Castle is right next to the site (campers get discounted entry) and Atholl Estates organise outdoor activities on the doorstep. There’s also a great chip shop across the road …

Port Ban Holiday Park at Kilberry on the Kintyre peninsular has amazing views. It’s well organised with play equipment and a sandy beach. There’s a shop, cafe and restaurant on site.

Solway View is on a farm a few miles from Kircudbright It’s a fantastic location with its own private beach and a bluebell wood that’s just stunning in spring. There are great beaches and coastal walks nearby. On site they’ve thought of everything including picnic benches and campfires at each pitch, covered cooking and seating areas, rope swings and disc golf.

Comte Croft in Conroe, near Crieff. lovely campsite, cars stay in the car park (apart from dropping tour stuff off/packing it up) so lots of room to run around. Nice woodlands for walk, good shop, lots of veggies grown on the site, awesome tearoom, and fire pits at each tent

Balloch o'Dee bear Newton Stewart, nice site, super chilled. in dark skies park so good for stargazing at night. has fire pits and a big campfire area, where there is often a sing song of an evening, if you want to join in. really nice toilets (a small thing, but it matters)

Kintra Farm on Islay. right on the beach. stunning spot - but weather can be harsh - we had a force 8 wind the first time we camped there. super basic but amazing to fall asleep while listening to the waves
