Glamping accessible by train from SE London

Hello

I'm looking for recommendations for campsites we can get to easily by train (and this is more important) have stuff to do nearby/on-site (i.e. a pub, maybe some sort of castle etc) when we're there. We're in SE London so Kent and Sussex are easily accessible- it will probably only be 3 nights at the start of the school holidays (DC 3 and 6).

I do drive but we don't have a car and DC1 gets so awfully terribly car sick any holiday where we drive a lot is dreadful for her. So some sort of yurt or bell tent where it's all set up so we don't have to carry stuff would be awesome- we might take bikes, but might not. I'm looking at Nethergong and Welsummer (but I'm not sure Welsummer is a bit far away from anything else?). Something quite nature-y, ponds, woods, swings that sort of thing. Farm animals a bonus.

Any ideas gratefully received! Big fans of sleeping outside, not so much of packing all the stuff up.

We love Adhurst Yurts. Take the train to Petersfieldand get a taxifrom the station or from Waitrose if you're stocking up on provisions.The drive is under ten minutes and costs around £8.

There’s a visiting fishmonger provides anything from dressed crab to seafood kebabs, ideal for your BBQ.Within walking distance, TheQueens Head serves proper sit down meals. The Harrow Inn is an unspoilt, intimate old pub with a pleasant garden. Durleigh Marsh Tea Barn has fantastic quiche and soups and is right next to the Pick Your Own farm with a shop.

We stayed at their Brighton site, easily accessible by bus or taxi from Brighton station and you can walk to the marina in minutes. Loads to do in Brighton and the public transport for getting around the city is great. They have other locations but I'm not sure if you could get to them by train. They're is a cycle route along the seafront that goes for miles in either direction and because the campsite is at the edge of the city you're right on the edge of the south downs.

I love the look of Blackberry Wood,near Ditchling.I don’t think it is far from Hassocks,so a taxi from the station wouldn’t be to expensive.

If you are ok to cross London then have a look at Henlow Bridge Lakes. Lots of lakes, each field has a small playground, you can walk goats and there's loads of activities at the weekends.

We've been to Wowo in West Sussex a few times as it's right on our doorstep. You'd need a train to Haywards Heath, then a taxi.

They have various glamping options and there are lots of activities on offer - bushcraft, face painting etc. or hot tubs/yoga/facials/massage etc for the grown ups. Loads of open space with woods, steams and rope swings. Plus they have food trucks some mornings/evenings as well as complementary homemade soup on a Saturday evening with acoustic music.

You can walk to a lovely pub called The Sloop about 20 mins away across the fields and you have the Bluebell Steam Railway and Sheffield Park NT on the doorstep.

My DS10 was only asking the other day when we could go back!

Oh and to add to my above post, although you can take the train to Haywards Heath then a taxi, you could also take the train to East Grinstead and pick up the Bluebell Steam Railway from there to Sheffield Park Station, which is a 15 min walk or 4 min cycle away.

Just to add there is a train station in the village which is 1 hr 20 from central London. walk or taxi up to site

Bodiam Woodland Camping. The glamping is in huts, 15 mins walk to Bodiam Castle, kayaking and paddle boarding from the site.

You have to take bedding and towels.
