Looking for a new tent as our is a little leaky

Had a fab few days camping but we think we need to replace our tent. Its a Eurohike shannon - 4 years old - I reproofed it earlier in the year with spray and seam sealant but it leaked at some of the seams still. Thats was ok. What wasn't ok was the water welling up through the groundsheet!

So we are looking for one with two sleeping compartments - for 2 adults and 1 child. Not huge - about 5m long at most. I do like a sewn in ground sheet if poss. Definitely pitching flysheet first and easy pitching preferred. Needs to pack down to reasonable size and withstand minor gales.

What sort of budget do you have in mind?

I'm back from my camping hols so full of enthusiasm again!

You may find that a footprint piece of PVC tarp would stop the water coming up, and stop the mud too.

Around £150-£200. I've thought about using a footprint and if it were the the only problem I probably would. Tbh i've been looking for a bit of an excuse cos dds sleeping pod is really very small and it gets a bit exciting in there when its windy (think billowing nylon)

TBH I would suggest going and looking in your nearest shop, simply becasue your timing is bang on and there are lots of tents on sale atm that would normally be out of your budget. The Coleman that everyone raves about (will link you) is just in that budget, might be worth it?

Now that does look lovely thankyou! Seems to be sold out for the season but I can look else where. We are planning on a trip to SK camping as they seem to have lots of different tents on display.

Thanks Riven I've not looked at the Lichen tents yet, so that gives me some good options. Its amazing it didnt leak during that awful awful weather - a good test!

We've got a Khyam Ridgi-Dome tent. I know they are a bit more expensive but they go up really quickly - ours is fully pitched in less than 30 minutes and withstands all the weather. (think very, very windy; very very wet and pitched by a cliff!! it was noisy but we were dry and the tent was in one piece - unlike several of the other tents on the campsite!)
