Thats excellent value Peachy! Where is this place, we could all go and be old gits together!

MaureenMLove · 12/08/2007 11:09

EEEEk! We even say the same things online now!

Peachy · 12/08/2007 11:24

At Christchurch in the Forest of Deam- a forest holidays site. Quiet but near enough a very good foodie pub (saracens Head- theye ven do asparagus rissotto on the kids menu LOL) to be a real treat.

Dh was going to take one next year but is looking at increasingly expensive tents (thinking about a frame tent now) and with a new baby, that's expensive enough LOL (though fiorst trip planned Whitsun, babs due easter.... insane? moi? nope coz entire extended family present to help hee hee hee)

RubberDuck · 12/08/2007 11:26

Peachy, go for one of these:

Pennine Pathfinder - we have one and it's fab. Caravan on the bottom and tent at the top. Not quite as luxurious as a caravan but you get a LOT of space (especially with awning as well) but much easier to tow and store. Own loo and hot and cold water too. Proper sprung mattresses.

RubberDuck · 12/08/2007 11:27

Also there's a Conway Crusader - very similar spec but different opening mechanism (I actually think the Conways are easier and quicker to assemble, having had both now).

Peachy · 12/08/2007 11:29

Sadly we are limted by living in a 200 year old mill cottage- terrace with no aprking or garden access so it'll have to be something like the easycamp mykonos 8 for the time being, however next time we move a driveway IS on our list of necessaries for this very reason!

RubberDuck · 12/08/2007 11:31

No, no, no ... I mean for your dotage when we're all off wearing purple at Christchurch

Peachy · 12/08/2007 11:36

Ah yes, that's what i'd love then LOL

Ah wine...... sob.... (missing it atm, only 7.5 months left- sob)

Kbear · 12/08/2007 13:30

congratulations in order then Peachy?

Peachy · 12/08/2007 14:40

Ah did you miss that then? LOL

Yep, Easter

And then Dh can get the snip. har ahr har.

TheOriginalXENA · 12/08/2007 14:53

Rubberduck i'm at your pathfinder. DH and I have been looking at them on ebay. We had a Conway Cruiser and we loved it!!

peanutbear · 12/08/2007 14:55

yes like a shot

ChippyMinton · 12/08/2007 15:02

Ooh Peachy, I missed your news too - congratulations

RubberDuck · 12/08/2007 15:04

We upgraded from a cruiser this year and I'm so pleased with it

The only thing I would say is that they do take longer to put up (especially with the Pennine mechanism rather than the Conway - plus it's easier to keep the interior drier while putting it up in the rain with the Conway) but we got a really good deal second hand for our Pathfinder so we went for that... otherwise we'd have gone for the Conway Crusader.

RubberDuck · 12/08/2007 15:05

Oops, me too - congrats Peachy

Dh had the snip earlier this year

TheOriginalXENA · 12/08/2007 15:31

Congrats peachy. Does that bring you into the crazy world of 4DC's? ... DH is booked for his snip in October
