Next summer planning !!! can anyone recommend a great site on lake annecy, ideally with direct access to the lake and great pool/slides - wanting to occupy teenage boys!!! Thanks!

We were in Annecy this year and stayed in Camping L'ideal. Not directly on the lake but a 10 min walk. We went as 2 families with kids in range 6-18 and all enjoyed.
I also looked at other sites but chose this due to the swimming pool & slides.

Le Lac Bleu has got direct access to the lake. Spent a week there in July and it's absolutely beautiful. However it gets really busy in the summer. Had a massive argument with reception staff, as the pitch that was allocated to us was gived to somebody else before we arrived (mind you we booked 4 months in advance).

There are a few to choose from but they do get booked up very very quickly. We looked at doing one last year and before we knew it all theist pitches were gone. Wherever you decide to book do it quickly.

Just got back from Lake Annecy, although didn’t camp. It’s a beautiful area and we’re probably going back next year.

All around the lake there are ‘green beaches’. Ie, grassy areas with direct access to the beach. Some are larger and lifeguarded, others are smaller. The water is lovely to swim in.

We stayed at Camping Les Fontaines a couple of years ago and loved it. I also had a recommendation at that time for Camping La Ravoire but it was fully booked so we didn’t end up staying there but it came highly recommended so worth a look. We absolutely loved Lake Annecy...would go back in a heartbeat.

We stayed at Camping Europa last year. It's across the road from the lake and has direct access onto the cycle path. It has water slides but quite modest, probably not enough to keep teenagers entertained for long. There's so much to do on the lake itself though that you might not consider it that much of a problem.

We stayed in one of the TAOS cabins and it was lovely.

Just to add, those two campsites are in a very similar area but Camping La Ravoire looks closer to the lake...we had a bit of a walk/cycle.

Forgot to say, there’s loads to entertain teenage boys.

  1. swimming in the lake
  2. hiring a boat
  3. paddle-boarding
  4. parascending
  5. Cycling around lake
  6. Chamonix/mt Blanc day trip
  7. Geneva day trip (and CERN)
  8. annecy - nice to look around
  9. mountain walks

My dc teens loved it.
