Where do you cook when camping?

Interested to know where other campers do their cooking, especially when it's raining.

I am too scared to cook inside the tent and the doorway doesn't seem much more sensible either, so we ended up cooking outside in the rain

We saw one group of people with a beach shelter set up as a kitchen, which seems like quite a good idea.

What do you do?

Not inside a gazebo Filly, really?
I take your point but I reckon if it's open on all four sides you ought to be able to get out fairly easily. Though, yes, if it collapsed and stuck to you it could be pretty nasty.

Yippee, the man has just delivered our sun canopy, or should I say rain canopy as yet again forecast is rain for each day we are away. Am tempted by the carpet Peachy, they felt great in the shop, but must stop shopping now .... really I must..

i have read in several places that it is a Bad Idea, kathy. I recall reading a rather unpleasant tale of an american family who had a stove in their gazebo . But I can't remember the full story, tbh, they might have had an inferior stove or gazebo or something, or done something very daft.

I suspect it depends on the stove also. I have a flat single burner and tbh would struggle to see how it could make anything catch light.

am pretty paranoid about fire though
. not trying to scaremonger.
