Low wattage camping heaters for tent

Yeah, I’m a wuss.

Just wondering what people with hook ups use heater wise.

5m canvas bell with hook up. Just like taking the damp off the air and find it useful keeping clothes properly dried and cosy.

I’ve got a fan heater but it’s noisy and I suspect the wattage would trip the hook up. I’ve got a ceramic heater but what the blurb didn’t say was that it glows like the inside of a nuclear power station and our Bell looks like it’s on fire from the outside.

Any other suggestions? Low noise, low wattage offerings?

We just use a cheap fan heater. 1500watts I believe got it from B&m not overly loud.

Thanks madfrogs. I’ve got a 2000w fan heater. I wonder if that will be too poky?

The way to work out whether or not something may be too powerful for the EHU is the calculation:

Watts / Volts = Amps

So for your 2kW heater,

2000W / 230V = 8.7A

It will pull 8.7A when it's running, so it's only good for a campsite that offers a 16A EHU. If the campsite only offers 6A you'll just trip the connection as soon as you turn it on. Most campsites will advertise how many Amps they have on their EHUs.

I always keep this handy on my phone so I don’t have to do the maths. Each site has different usage.

I’ll take it with us anyway and ask. No information on their website it’s a CCC site with only bookings via the CCC page. It’s going to be 14c overnight anyway so I am hoping even I can cope this weekend!!
