Where to camp this summer?

We've got a week in August to camp somewhere in the south west. I have my heart set on Cornwall, but doesn't have to be.

We have 3 boys aged 6, 3 and 2 so somewhere with a play area, club house (or bars/cafes/restaurants nearby), near the beach and swimming pool would be ideal.

Need a pitch with electric hook up large enough for a campervan and awning.

Hit me up with any recommendations!

Have a look at pitch up.com you can search for sites using your chosen criteria and dates. We were considering Cornwall but a bit put off by the drive down from Kent- so we are going to Scotland instead

Thanks, I've been on pitch up but wondered if anyone had specific recommendations. It's sometimes hard to tell what campsites are like on websites - and what the surrounding area is like. Lovely, enjoy Scotland!

Pentewan Sands has its own lovely private beach, indoor pool, indoor soft play, bar etc. We walked the coastal path from there to Megavissey.

Another is Mother Iveys bay, has a stunning private beach and another beach just a few minutes walk. No pool but a huge playground with amazing equipment.

If you are in a camper then Pentewan has a bus stop outside with a stop at an Asda! Also goes to Heligan Gardens etc. Mother iveys is beautiful but a bit cut off if you don’t want to drive the camper off pitch (we have a Motorhome).

Haven Perran Sands would be my number one recommendation, but chances are it’s fully booked. No harm in trying though!

We stayed at sunhaven valley in cornwall a few years ago and it was amazing. The location was stunning. It doesn't have a bar or club house but is about 15 min walk (down a footpath) to a beach/village in 1 direction and an informal bar restaurant the other direction. There is a kids play area and small animals at the site and they have visiting pizza/food vans for days when you don't want to cook. I think the breakfast van came most days!

Some cracking suggestions there. Will look up all of them. Thanks so much!

We stayed at Brighouse Bay Holiday park and loved it. The site is fantastic and I'll recommend it to anyone who will listen.

Huh? You're put off by the 6hr drive to Cornwall, so doing a 12hr drive to Scotland instead? Confused
