Looking for a new place to camp

We camp every year with two other families. After a few years at one place (Wellington Country Park) we moved onto another (Hurley Riverside Park).

We've been there a while now so looking for a change.

Things we like:

  • The kids can ride their bikes around in relative safety on site (all 11-14 yo)
  • The newish, clean facilities
  • Electric hookup a must
  • Space for the children to play/kick a football/release energy without bashing into someone's tent
  • A play area (for the now 2 year old) under supervision
  • Within an hour or so of Surrey

Can anyone suggest a new site that we could try? Being able to take the bikes is a must. It's usually only a weekend of camping so it needs to be easy (ie not wildcamping)

  • my co-campers are fair weather campers!

Thanks 🙏🏻

Cotswold view has loads for kids if not too far? You can even hire their skittle alley!

Or Swiss farm has amazing facilities and Henley on Thames is lovely to explore.

Cotswold View is probably a little too far - but Swiss Farm looks perfect! Will check it out thanks 🙏🏻

Spaghettio I'm sorry for derailing but would love any feedback on Hurley Riverside Farm for camping with a 4 and 6 yo.

Milliways · 16/07/2019 22:34

Hurley is lovely. There is a kids playground and lots of space to play. The pitches are all very well kept.
The river is accessed through a locked gate and you can walk all the way to Marlow, although Hurley lock is very pretty.
There is an ice cream boat on the river, a Pirate Pizza boat and a curry van visit so lots of options if not wanting to cook.

Milliways thanks that sounds great! Spaghettio I'm sorry again for going off topic but will follow this thread with interest.

I wholeheartedly agree - Hurley is fab and perfect for your aged children. It's very well kept and clean and we've always had a fab time there. The fish and chip can on a Friday night also means we never have to worry about food on our first night!

HI, just a very quick update with thanks for the suggestion of Hurley. We have arrived and it is absolutely fab!

Good to hear! Hope the weather is kind and you can enjoy the river tomorrow. If not, there's a lovely pub in the nearby village!
