dont forget to take the playpen/moses basket with ya for outside and lots of toys. at that age its easy till they start crawling, running etc

that's what I thought! only thing I was worried about was having him in the carseat for long periods - it's so not flat. and it makes him sweat.

We used to have a playmat with a pop-up uv sunshade for when dd was a baby.

okay now I'm going to ask some really dumb questions as I was all keen to go this weekend until dh started being pragmatic:

how do you bath your lo when camping? we usually go to "back paddock at a farm" sites with minimal facilities.

will ds be warm enough with just a grobag in a travel cot, inside the tent with us?

but Student if we don't do it I won't get any break at all til Christmas and we've got to see rellies then. In Australia. See? Doesn't camping look reasonable by comparison?

we camped last summer, and DD2 was 9 months.

Baby walker went with us

Sleep wise - it was a scorcher, but travel cot, with blanket to lay on as added extra insulation, vest and pj's and blanket thrown over when it cooled down.

Bathing - we filled the communal washing up sink with water and bubbles and let them sit in it! Also used a baby paddling pool.

We were lucky in that there was a pool on site so swims every day!

oh, duuuuh (at me)

thanks JARM - you would think I'd have thought of the sink, given we've been bathing him in our kitchen sink for the past 16 weeks!

very excited about this...!
