It all starts this weekend

Sharp intake of breath, it all starts on Saturday.
We are off to Dorset for a week, then a long weekend the following weekend, and then the next weekend we are off to Cornwall for 2 weeks. Are we mad?

Have only spent 2 nights in the tent so far, and that was when the weather was nice at the beginning of June.

Take clothes for all conditions - wellies for tromping through damp grass - layers of warm stuff for cooler evenings - sun lotion for scorching sun with a cool wind that mean syou don't realise quite how scorching it is until 3 hours later when your shoulders are crimson.

We're going on Sunday (when the good weather is going to start right? !) - very excited. Have a great trip.

It all seemed like a good idea in those hazy hot days of April , when we were so excited that we had just bought a tent.

I'm actually more worried about how tired its going to make us feel. Maybe by Cornwall we'll all be that tired that we won't care anymore and will sleep through anything

I am packing my trailer today (in between bouts of MNing and checking on poorly DS!).

Your more organised than me. I'm supposed to be getting ready for dd birthday tea tonight. Haven't managed much yet today.

He has "non-specific not wellness", ie high temp, lethargic, not eating - not sure if this is it or the beginning of something ....

Anyway, I am at work most of week so need to get organised today and I am ridiculously over-excited about having a trailer this year, saves me having the coolbox and half a ton of other stuff round my knees on the journey!!!

Kbear - if it's any consolation I'm looking out of my office window at the beach a couple of miles up the coast from Kessingland and can tell you that we have hazy sunshine, a warm(ish) breeze and there are people swimming in the sea. Fingers crossed for you next week!

Thanks for that justadad, it's about time the weather improved isn't it. It's lovely in SE London but some big black clouds have rolled over this morning.

oooh mrs organised! well done!!!

erm yes we were but we had a 'seize the day' moment and decided to just go for it! we were talking about the mb's actually and how terrible things happen to fantastic people and that made our mind up.

and seeing as I have got a job today -

cool!!! that's an attitude i like to see!

although having been in Go Outdoors this morning and seen the size of the two bags I'm seriously worried it won't fit in the car
