Camping in the vendee - flies and heat?

Hi
We are trying to decide whether to camp in the vendee in August. We have found a campsite "camping bel air" near tranche sur mer that seems to fit the bill. however my wife has 2 concerns that are stopping us booking,

  1. Flies - having never visited the area, can anyone tell me if flies are abundant or simply a bit like England in terms of quantity!
  2. Heat - having read a little about this I can not get a definitive answer on whether overnight temps are usually unbareable! Any guidance appreciated

Thanks

With the heat it can vary. We have been boiled in the Vendee and also I've had a hotwater bottle and hat on in bed! Flies are no more than anywhere else.

Never had issues with flies last summer. First few days were torrential rain but after that it was perfect weather. We were near saint hillaire de riez

Have stayed on that site a couple of times in the past - flies were not a problem, you’re very close to the beach there which seems to help with that. Heat was also fine - there will be hot spells but we found temperatures dropped to a comfortable level at night.

We stayed in that campsite, it was beautiful. No problem with flies but we did have loads at the place we stayed at the year after actually!
