am accepting that flash pop up and double airbed is inadequate for 4 people (2 of them are smallish)

I don't want some huge b'stard either.

I have half a vango venture but they seem to be discontinued

thoughts?

how exciting - a new tent!

Vango now do the V500 which replaces the Venture - I think!

fillyjonk · 08/07/2007 12:03

ah i SEE

but i think i need something SLIGHTLY bigger

but not HUGE

not a great thing with 2 ends.

And when camping we do like to have the kids sleeping in with us

Ooo tent shopping...excellent

This is my lastest addition!

Perfect for 4 people (ignore all the bodies they have lined up in the central living area in the diagram) but not enormous either

fillyjonk · 08/07/2007 14:37

hmm

a LOT of pennies though

maybe I am entering Lots Of Pennies territory

Oops Filly should have said that's not what I paid

I bought it from Gear-Zone.co.uk last month when I saw it in their huge discount sale for £200

Fab tent just want to get out there and christen it now

What budget are you looking at?
There certainly loads of bargains out there to be had at the moment

fillyjonk · 08/07/2007 17:27

a tipi would be nice also

actually i have a hand bound book with proper hippy instructions for the making of tipis. Also shoes, and song writing.

If you like Vangos we've just bought a vango diablo (ours is a 500dlx - bigger porch for the dog to sleep in), might suit you as you can take out the divides between 2 bedrooms which would give you a big bedroom, enough to sleep 4, and little single bedroom which is great for storage/larder etc. It has a big living area which is very handy when the weather is bad! and a porch for leaving wellies and wet anoraks in. You can get them for around £250 from Somerset Camping. Also found the inbuilt pockets very handy, great for keeping matches etc out of toddlers reach!
Tipi sounds fun though, I looked at them but thought they were v expensive!

LittleB · 09/07/2007 09:06

Sorry ours isn't vango diablo, its a vango aspen!

vwvic · 09/07/2007 10:20

Try this one?
www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_15 8713langId-1CarSelectorCatalogIdCarSelectorGroupIdvarientcategoryId31512crumb34005-33937 parentcategoryrn31512

We got a tent from halfords three years ago, and use it plenty. It's withstood several storms. Very happy campers we are!

fillyjonk · 09/07/2007 14:21

I have actually convinced dp to buy a www.belltent.co.uk/4_meter_version.htm

We HAVE found the poles, but the tent IS too small for us really, esp with another baby

so

yippeeeee!

(please don't mention mildew. ta)
