Tent Knowers - Is this Woollies bargain any good?

Here.

Bobby bargain? Or best avoided?

We are 4, and only want a tent for weekend camping...when the weather forecast is good. I will not be doing hailstorms, cloudbursts or deep mud. I am a soft vigin camper.

Unfortunately the description on the Woolies site is a bit rubbish. And does not give the name of the make. I was in the shop today, and have compleletly forgotten the name of it now....could have had the word trek in .

Anyway, helpful advice either way gratefully recieved

It doesn't give you the Hydrostatic Head (waterproofness) which is a good indicator of quality.

I'd be a bit wary - especially not knowing the make.

If you have a look at old camping threads you can probably find something of a similar price but a good brand/good HH rating. I'd have a look for you but I have to go and get the kids from school.

Yes, is that the number of raindrops sign? I checked on the box and it didn't have it. I'm pretty wary too...but I do like a bargain

Thanks moo, I have spent quite a while on the camping archives, lots of really good reccomendations, just saw this one while I was in the shop and wondered if anyone had it.

I reckon it was never worth £120 let alone £200. You would be gettign exactly what you are paying for and not a bargain at all tbh. If you wnat a good bargain check out the camping websites (if you have time) there are often 2006/2005 tents going quite cheap if you search around

Have a look at this site

And now I really have to go

Slubberdegullion · 05/07/2007 14:50

ghaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa too much choice .

Thanks tarantula, I think I needed a reply like that to straighten me out! Will resist the woollies non bargain (repeats mantra).

have a look at this

Gelert are ezxcellent, we had one. For four of you, a six man will do (just The Tent Way), I woudl seriosuly recommend the Alaska and Quebedc- very huighly rated tents
